Sönül Yerli, M.A., is a religious education specialist and has served as Deputy Director of the Islamic Community of Penzberg since 2005, with a focus on interreligious dialogue. She completed the basic and advanced courses in Catholic theology at the Cathedral School in Würzburg, as well as a Master’s program in Interreligious Dialogue at the Danube University Krems. In 2018, she received the Manfred Görg Special Award from the Friends of Abraham Association (Freunde Abrahams e.V.) for her master’s thesis and her long-standing commitment
She is the Deputy Chair of the Munich House of Learning (Münchner Lehrhaus), a board member of the House of Cultures and Religions Munich, and an expert advisor to the Munich Adult Education Center (Münchner Volkshochschule). As a speaker, she is active nationwide on topics related to Islam and interreligious education.
